Our Cone Beam CT scanner provides high resolution, volumetric images that are complete, three-dimensional views of critical anatomy, allowing for a more thorough analysis of bone structure and tooth orientation. The accuracy of Cone Beam CT is comparable to medical CTs but uses a much lower radiation dose.

Cone beam images are clear and accurate. This results in, allowing for improved orthodontic diagnosis and treatment, as you can assess tooth relationships much more accurately and then plan accordingly.
CBCT gives you a precise 3D view of impacted molars/teeth within the alveolar bone, showing their position with regards to adjacent teeth and proximity to vital structures such as the inferior dental nerve, sinus walls, and other vital structures.
Cone beam CT assists in both the detection and evaluation of possible problems for your patients, thanks to accurate measurements of bone and jaw deformities. This allows you to assess bone lesions and changes of the jaw and detect cysts, tumours and disease.

One scan with a PaX-i3D Smart gives you not just a CT image but also an Auto Pano image. This means that patients who require both images do not need to undergo two X-ray scans. What’s more, CT and Auto Pano images are displayed within the One Viewer feature.

Arrange appointment
On receipt of the booking form, we’ll contact your patient to arrange an appointment.
Confirmation
We’ll send your patient a confirmation letter and our patient guide to CBCT dental scans.
Appointment reminder
They’ll receive an email/text appointment reminder 24/48 hours before the appointment.
Arrival for CBCT scan
On arrival, your patient will be greeted by one of our reception team and offered refreshments.
Scanning room
Our scanning coordinator will then accompany your patient to our scanning room for the scan.
Scanning procedure
The scanning procedure will take less than five minutes.
Further questions
Our scanning coordinator will answer any further questions your patient might have.

Smart innovation for accurate diagnosis
Anatomical FOV 12×9
The innovative FOV of the PaX-i3D Smart provides an arch-shaped volume, which shows a wider view of dentition compared to other devices of the same FOV. Normally, a FOV 10×8.5 image shows tooth #8. However, when the tooth is lying on its side, there is a high possibility that the tooth will be cut out of the image. The ‘arch-shaped volume’ eliminates this possibility and shows the hidden dentition area.
