Bupa Smile Plan is a subscription product that allows you to cover the cost of preventative dental care with bite-sized monthly payments.

It’s an annual plan of regular private dental care consisting of routine check-ups and hygiene appointments. It includes routine monitoring X-rays when clinically required. As a Bupa Smile Plan holder, you can also save 10%† on a range of dental treatments.

The cost of these routine appointments is spread across 12 equal and manageable monthly payments, making budgeting easier and saving you money on any clinically necessary routine monitoring X-rays.

How much does it cost?

Your monthly payments are calculated by adding the cost of 2 check-ups and 2 hygiene appointments and dividing by 12, we then round to the nearest 50p.

You pay the same amount each month, so you don’t have to pay for your appointment costs all in one go, helping you budget.

How do I pay?

The 12 monthly payments are collected via direct debit.

Registration fee

A one-off registration fee of £10 is payable and this will be taken around the time of your first monthly payment, so other than a small set-up fee, you don’t pay any extra for splitting the cost and you get additional benefits. Please check with your local practice for details.

Step 2

Check you are happy with the price and complete the easy online registration.

 

Step 3

Once your registration is confirmed and your first direct debit payment made, book in your first Bupa Smile Plan appointment.

On the phone or in person at the practice

Step 1

Phone Arnica on 01242 655554 and ask about Bupa Smile Plan.

Step 2

The practice team will confirm the monthly payment and take your details to register you, or they can email you a link to complete the application at home.

Bupa Smile Plan covers routine check-ups and hygiene appointment with bite-sized monthly payments. Here are the answers to the most asked questions. If you do not see your question here, please call the practice and speak to a member of the team.

Who is my contract with?
Your contract of care is between you and Oasis Dental Care Ltd, trading as Bupa Dental Care, which operates your Bupa Dental Care practice. Your terms and conditions (your Agreement) will be available in the Bupa Smile Plan portal, along with all the details of your plan. You will receive a copy of your Agreement together with your plan summary document in the online portal, which will have the details of your plan.

Who collects my payments?
Your payments will be collected via direct debit and sent to your dental practice to carry out treatment and provide continuing care. Bupa Dental Care will appear on your bank statement..

How do I pay for Bupa Smile Plan?
You will pay monthly via direct debit to cover the annual cost of your plan, helping you to budget for your dental care and attend regular check-ups.

How much will I pay?
Your Bupa Smile Plan monthly fee is aligned to the private treatment costs at your practice. Your monthly payments are calculated by taking the cost of the number of check-ups and hygiene appointments included in your plan, as stated in your Agreement, and splitting this into 12 bite-sized payments making budgeting easier and saving you money on any clinically necessary routine monitoring X-rays. A one-off registration fee of £10 applies upon joining.

Will the monthly fee ever change?
The fees are reviewed annually and are linked to the cost of treatment in your practice. If we need to make changes to the cost of your plan, you will receive a minimum of 30 days’ notice of any change to your fee.

What does my plan include?
Your Bupa Smile Plan gives you access to:
2 check-ups

Routine monitoring dental X-rays, as and when required (up to 2 per year)
Preventative dental advice
Plus 10% off selected private dental treatments

What is not included in my plan?
The following are excluded from Bupa Smile Plan: restorative dental treatments, including fillings, crowns, bridges or dentures; laboratory fees and prescriptions; specialist treatment or referrals; orthodontics, implants or cosmetic treatment; sedation fees; treatment carried out by someone other than your registered practice team. Please consult the Agreement for a full list of exclusions.

What is included in the 10% discount?
Your Bupa Smile Plan covers your regular check-up and dental hygiene needs as well as a 10% discount on selected private dental care treatments. Full list of inclusions: additional X-rays (in your dental practice), fillings, inlays/onlays, gum disease treatment (non-surgical), oral hygiene and disease prevention, tooth extractions (non-surgical), dentures, bridges, crowns, emergency consultation with your dental provider.

Can I carry over unused treatment?
Your Bupa Smile Plan benefits are available over a full 12-month period from the date of your first payment. Please ensure you contact your practice and receive your treatment within that period as your treatment allowance will reset and any unused treatments cannot be taken in the following 12-month period.

What do I do if I want to make changes to my Bupa Smile Plan?
If you need to update any of your personal details (address, bank account etc.), simply log in to your account on the Bupa Smile Plan online portal and follow the easy instructions.

If I am moving areas can I move my plan to another Bupa practice?
If you need to change your Bupa Dental Care practice, please speak to your practice team. They can help you find an alternative Bupa Dental Care practice offering Bupa Smile Plan and, if you’re happy with the price at the new practice, transfer your plan.

How do register more than one patient?
If you are setting up more than one plan, eg, one for yourself and one for your partner, you will need to use a separate email address for each patient.

Will I always see the same dentist?
Your Bupa Smile Plan agreement is between you and your Bupa Dental Care practice. Whilst we would expect you to receive your ongoing care from your usual dentist, it may be necessary for another Bupa dentist to care for you from time to time due to extenuating circumstances. If your dentist changes permanently, we will notify you by email.

How do I cancel my plan?
Your Bupa Smile Plan agreement is between you and your Bupa Dental Care practice. Whilst we would expect you to receive your ongoing care from your usual dentist, it may be necessary for another Bupa dentist to care for you from time to time due to extenuating circumstances. If your dentist changes permanently, we will notify you by email

Is there a cooling off period?
Yes, you can cancel your Bupa Smile Plan for any reason during a 14-day cooling-off period after signing up. If you have made a payment within your cooling-off period and you change your mind, please let us know straight away. Your first monthly payment will be refunded to you, minus the registration fee you have been charged, providing you have not received any treatment in this time..

What is the minimum period?
After your 14-day cooling-off period has finished, there is a minimum 3-month term from the commencement date of the plan. After this period, you can cancel at any time by contacting your practice and providing 30 days’ written notice.

What do I do if I am not happy with my Bupa Smile Plan?
We expect every part of your experience with Bupa Dental Care to reflect our high standards of customer care. If we have not met your expectations, please contact your local Practice Manager in the first instance.
