Hello, my name is Nicola Robinson I am a dentist here at Arnica Dental Care.
Whenever we take on new patients we ask them how regularly they visit the dentist and whilst many say they always book an appointment when they receive their recall reminder many ignore their reminder and leave it until there might be an issue.
I thought I’d take this opportunity to remind patients why it’s important to visit their dentist regularly.
Prevention and early detection of dental problems:
Regular check-ups can help prevent minor issues from turning into major dental problems. Your dentist can detect early signs of tooth decay, gum disease, and oral cancer, allowing for prompt treatment.
Professional cleaning:
Even with regular brushing and flossing, it is impossible to remove all plaque and tartar from your teeth. Professional cleaning helps remove stubborn buildup and prevents cavities and gum disease.
Oral health education:
Your dentist can provide guidance on proper oral hygiene practices, including brushing and flossing techniques, and recommend products that are best suited for your individual needs.
Overall health:
Poor oral health has been linked to several serious health conditions, including heart disease, stroke, and diabetes. Regular dental check-ups can help maintain your oral health and potentially prevent these health issues.
Overall, regular visits to your dentist are crucial to maintaining good oral health and preventing serious dental problems.
It is recommended to visit the dentist every six months for a check-up and cleaning.
